The following Art in Phoenix public service announcement comes from Arizona Clay Association.

Our Events Coordinator Melissa Kelsey worked with Laurie Canfield of Sunshine Sunflower Studio to develop the hands-on creative portion of our Virtual Holiday Party.  Laurie will walk us through hand building “snowman lanterns”!  No need to sign up.  Email invitations for Zoom will be sent to all members.

Clay workshop
Saturday, December 12, 2020
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

To make the lantern (pictured in the invitation), you will need the following:

• ~2 lbs. of white clay (e.g. Laguna B-Mix Cone 5)
• rolling pin or another roller
• needle tool
• tool to create holes in your clay
• metal rib
• water
• Optional: a small amount of darker clay for the nose (e.g. Laguna Speckled Buff Cone 5)
