• Artist in Residence Opportunity

City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture

The Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture’s Public Art Program is requesting qualifications from artists for an opportunity to serve as an Artist in Residence at the 27th Avenue Solid Waste Management Facility during the spring of 2016.  Up to three artists may be selected for the opportunity.

Selected artists will be commissioned to spend four months creating works made from materials found at the site.  The mission of this commission is to create works that transform trash to treasure while assisting in the educational programming of the Solid Waste Management team.  Artists will be required to take part in an educational training before beginning the process, and work closely with the educational outreach team throughout the residency period.  Artists will be provided with a temporary office, storage space and access to materials at the facility.
