The Yavapai College Prescott Art Gallery Presents
The Yavapai College Art Gallery is accepting original art inspired by the concept of Resilience and themes from Never Whistle at Night: An Indigenous Dark Fiction Anthology, edited by Shane Hawk and Theodore C. Van Alst Jr., Vintage Books, 2023.
Resilience is the capacity to withstand and transcend adversity, even when circumstances seem insurmountable. Embodying resilience is an act of inner strength, conviction, and courageous endurance—ensuring that the spirit remains unbroken, adapts, and moves forward.
Seeking artists working in any medium, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, textiles, ceramics, digital art, and more.
Exhibition: January 22 – February 19, 2027
Opening Reception: Friday, January 22, 5:00PM to 7:00PM
Submissions Close: Monday, November 30, 11:59pm
Artists Notified: Friday, December 11Exhibition Juror: Shane Hawk
Shane Hawk is a horror writer, editor, and creator of the Native Horror Index, a comprehensive database of Indigenous horror. He is a coeditor of the bestselling Never Whistle at Night series and co-writer of the horror stage play The Land Has Spoken.
Accepted artists will be responsible for all shipping costs to and from Yavapai College Art Gallery. Please include paid return postage.
